Mousse-1 CB-0

I tried really hard. I promise.

Sadly a cupcake wasn’t in the cards today.

I wasn’t even gonna post about it. But I figured sometimes its nice to read about the failures right? Like me telling you “See, I am not perfect. Sometimes I fail.” kinda thing? I don’t mind failing as long as I learn something from it (translation: It sucks and I have no idea what I did wrong).

I had such high hopes. sigh…

Vanilla bean cheesecake cupcakes topped with white chocolate mousse. Sounds heavenly right?

But all you get right now is the cheesecake part.

After 3 tries the mousse won. It just never came together. ::sniff::

All I know is… I am out 3 cups of heavy whipping cream, 12 oz of white chocolate, my feet hurt, my back aches and my trashcan smells like cream cheese and whipped cream puke.

Sorry readers… I give up. I’ll have to try again another day.

::eating naked cheesecake cupcakes to console myself::

  1. you’re right. It does make me feel better to know that you failed once.

And I know that you’ll persevere. You’ll get it. It just makes me excited to see your successes!!

  2. Mmmm, I’d be happy with just the cheesecake! :)

  3. I think maybe, just mabye, this is one where the cheesecake is better on its own. I automatically thought ‘not sure about the white chocolate mousse’.

The cheesecakes look so cute! and they are still cupcake shaped!

  4. Naked cheesecake cupcakes are alright with me!

P.S. – Last day to enter my “I Want Candy!” giveaway.

  5. Aww, it’s ok, we all have our mess-ups. It’s what keeps us striving for more. :D

  6. The cupcakes still look yummy! You can still *dress it up* with some jam on top…mmmm guava would be excellent!

  7. Put some strawberries on top and it will be perfect and you’ll never miss the mousse

  8. It’s okay…..they cupcakes look yummy even naked!!

  9. Those look great. Sorry the mousse beat you. I made a great white chocolate mousse for CH one month… Just throw some fruit on there and you’ll be all set!

  10. NATALIE, Glad my failures help you feel better. HAHA. Appreciate the encouragement.

MISSMARIE, MARSHA & KRMWV, I admit the cheesecake part was very good. That crust is yummy!

LISA-MARIE, I hear ya but I always feel like its not a cupcake without some kind of frosting/topping you know?

JULIE, true true. In hindsight its true but while you’re failing it kinda sucks…

JESS*, oohhhh jam!! I might have some strawberry jam in the frig. That would be nice.

NIKKI, I do have some strawberries in the frig that need to be eaten. You are so smarty.

JEN, Oh really? Maybe I just need a new recipe. I’ll have to check out the one in your blog and see if maybe its the recipe and not the baker. ;)

  11. Don’t worry, I’ve had more than my fair shares of “what the H-E-double-hockey-sticks went wrong!?!?”

The cheesecake part sure is pretty though!

  12. CHERIE, HAHA. Uh yeah… I said that one along with other more colorful derivatives. ;)

  13. don’t you hate that gross heavy whipped cream smell on your hands and in your trash can?? barfooooo.

  14. MARA, oh yeah… It was starting to waft into my livingroom so I knew I had to take the trash out. Blah…

  15. I will take them without the mousse. they look fabulous, truly. Sorry it didn’t work out

  16. MARYANN, aawwww you so sweet. Thanks for making me feel better about my mousse mishap.

  17. Mousse or no mousse… the cupcakes still look yummy. And what’s wrong with naked cheesecake? They look super yummy!

  18. LIZ, thank you for the love. I guess I just have the idea that cupcake needs frosting. It looks so lonely without some frosting…

  19. Awww… We get those bad tries sometimes. I hate them too, but sometimes, they are good excuses for eating a lot of (leftover) cake.

  20. ABLOSH, Oh yeah… lots of good leftover VB cheesecake for me to eat. I’ll probably try again but I am over it right now. Thanks for the sympathy :)
